Kenya: All Bodies Recovered from Ugandan Helicopter Crash

The Kenyan military says rescuers have recovered the remains of all seven Ugandan soldiers who died when their military helicopter crashed Sunday.

Spokesman Bogita Ongeri told VOA the remains of soldiers that had been missing were discovered on Thursday.

Rescuers have pulled the last bodies from the burned wreckage of the Russian-made Mi-24 helicopter that crashed on Mount Kenya.

Ongeri said investigators will continue to look into what caused the crash. Officials have said it may have been weather-related.

Three Ugandan military helicopters crashed at different sites on Mount Kenya Sunday.

The soldiers were on their way to Somalia to join African Union forces fighting the militant group al-Shabab.
