Leeds Hit And Run Children 'Getting Better'

The two children left fighting for their lives after a hit and run in Leeds on Saturday are "showing signs of improvement", according to their family.

Two-year old Rahan Saleem and his ten-year-old sister Sabah were rushed to Leeds General Infirmary in critical conditions after being knocked down by a Vauxhall Astra in the Hyde Park area of the city.

The driver of the car fled the scene after slowing down to see what happened.

The family of the injured children, who both underwent surgery, has told Sky News that Rahan is still being treated in hospital but is "on his feet".

His sister, who sustained head injuries, is still seriously ill but is said to be in a stable condition.

Her aunt, Azra Rafique, said that the family expected Sabah to be in hospital for "some considerable time."
